Darian Wigfall is an author, activist, arts organizer, DJ and entrepreneur. After graduating from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 2006, Darian moved back to St. Louis to be a catalyst for better education and cultural development in the community that raised him. He co-directs the St. Louis based FarFetched music collective, an art imprint that produces progressive music and art in St. Louis and beyond. Darian’s direct action in Ferguson as part of Artivists led to his protest sign being inducted into the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, which will open on September 24, 2016 and a feature in Smithsonian magazine in December 2015. In recognition of his efforts in civil rights and business successes outside of the traditional protest and corporate settings, Darian was featured alongside his collaborative partners in the February 2016 issue of Fortune Magazine in an article about the paths young black men are charting for themselves instead of becoming marginalized in a corporate board room. Furthermore, Darian currently serves on the advisory board of the St. Lou Fringe festival, an arts festival centering around theater and performing arts, the executive board of Solid Lines Theater Company, and All The Art, St. Louis art magazine.
